Hello,

I’m getting this error on the MasterPage/Menu1 (which is of type MenuTemplate) and don’t know hot to fix it: “The SiteMap Item Template could not be found and it's required for the Menu Template to work.”

Do you have any suggestions?  Thanks for any help.

Hi,

The "Menu Template" requires a SiteMap Item in the project.
By default if you create a new web project using the GenWise Quickstart or the wizard it will automatically add this SiteMap Item.

Did you by manually deleted ,renamed this SiteMap Item?
If you did probably that's the reason for the error.

You can off course delete the menu template (from the designer or from the template tree).or
You could add again a new SiteMap by using right-click at webproject / Configuration (node) and select SiteMap Item Template.

Let me know if there is any further question or my explanation is not clear.
