GenWise Installer - Installation Failure If you have problems installing GenWise please read this topic. Possible Error Messages
WSC – Windows script Component This is pre-installed by default in all windows machines but if for some reason if in your machine this is not correctly installed will give also problems with installer. We’ve read reports on the internet that this could be due to a incorrect installation of Windows Scripting (Windows scripting is included by default on WinXP SP2). You might be able to fix the installation problem by re-installing this component. (computer restart required after the installation.)
Security Program It could also be related with some “security” programs which blocks the execution of this program ( scripts disabled, etc). Please contact us at support@genwise.com letting us know the name and version of the security product your are currently using.
Please send us the installer log file Can you execute on the command line the following command (inside the directory where you placed the setup.exe and installer.msi which were contained in the zip archive you downloaded) msiexec /i installer.msi /Lv* logfile.txt This command will start the installation processes and write information about the progress and detailed information about the error you are getting to the file named "logfile.txt". Please go through the installation like you did before until you get the error you've send in the screenshot. Press OK and when the installer is closed e-mail me the logfile.txt file.
