Project Explorer

Topic updated 11-6-2007

The Project Explorer displays the project tree with all project items that are loaded in GenWise Studio. By default the Project Explorer will be displayed in a docked window on the left of the screen. If the Project Explorer has been closed you can reopen it from the View Menu.

When you work with the project tree you can:

Double click an item to open its default page.
By double clicking you can open the project configuration for a project node, the Template Options Pages for most templates, and various designers for items in the Database Repository.
Right-click an item to access its context menu.
Most tree nodes have context menus with menu options specific to the item. Using the context menu, you can open many important parts of the GenWise Studio IDE, such as the Source Editor. Furthermore, context menus are used for Adding Templates and Removing Templates, and for manual Validation of project items.

Example: using the context menu of the Extension Templates node to add an Extension Template to a project.
