Transferring a license

GenWise licenses are issued on a per-computer basis. You are however not bound to use a license just on one computer infinitely. By transferring a license, you stop using GenWise Studio on one computer, and start using it on another computer instead.

You can transfer your GenWise license by de-activating it on one computer, and activating it on another computer. To do so, follow the steps below. We'll transfer a license from computer A to computer B.

1.On computer A start GenWise Studio, and choose Tools - De-activate License from the main menu.
2.The deactivation dialog appears, click the Yes button. When the de-activation process has completed (after a few seconds) you'll get a confirmation, and GenWise Studio will be closed.

3.Get a fresh GenWise Installer from the GenWise website (registration/login required) and install GenWise Studio on computer B.
4.Start GenWise Studio on computer B, on go through the standard procedure of Activating GenWise.

 

An internet connection is required during in-activation on computer A and during activation on computer B.
