Juno vs. Tax Planner Pro vs. Corvee: Tax Planning Software

Compare Juno, Tax Planner Pro and Corvee/Instead for accounting firms: planning workflows, review controls, pricing questions and implementation fit.

Juno vs. Tax Planner Pro vs. Corvee: Tax Planning Software

Choosing planning software starts with defining the service your firm will deliver. Researching a client question, calculating a projection, presenting a plan and tracking implementation are related jobs, but they are not interchangeable.

The products in this comparison have changed since the original article. Official sources were reviewed September 7, 2026. Keep existing URLs for reference, but use current vendor proposals for purchasing decisions.

Juno: advisory alongside preparation and review

Juno's current product family includes Preparer, Binder, Reviewer and Advisor. Its Advisor documentation describes client-specific questions with citations, planning scenarios, projections and drafted communications or presentations.

For Genwise, the implementation question is how a draft becomes reviewed advice. Require the advisor to verify the client facts, cited authority, assumptions and calculations before sending a deliverable. A citation is an aid to checking an answer, not a guarantee that the conclusion fits the client.

Do not assume the broader platform's integration list proves that every ledger field, planning action or workflow status is supported. Scope the exact handoff and test it. Review Juno pricing for the current commercial model.

Tax Planner Pro: projection and client explanation workflow

Tax Planner Pro's current website describes tax-return upload, scenario modeling, branded reports and an advisor-operated workspace. It also presents Nova AI and LedgerHQ connectivity. This is a broader and different description from the article's old $1,500-per-year, QBO/Xero-centered recommendation.

Test the projection types your firm needs, how source data is reviewed, and how assumptions remain visible in client outputs. Confirm the current subscription, AI usage and integration availability in a written quote. We have not independently validated the product's tax calculations or savings examples.

A suitable pilot should show whether the team can prepare, review and explain a scenario consistently—not simply produce an attractive report.

Corvee / Instead: distinguish the existing product from the new offering

Corvee's official site now redirects to Instead and states that Corvee is part of Instead. The page describes multi-entity planning, questionnaires and branded plans, and provides existing-customer access.

Do not infer that every Instead product or feature advertised as forthcoming is already available to a Corvee customer. Ask which product, feature set and contract the proposal covers. The old estimated $20,000 annual starting price has been removed because it is not a verified current quote.

For an existing user, confirm access, data export and account-specific transition terms before making changes. For a new buyer, evaluate the actual product demonstrated, not a roadmap.

Compare the workflow, not just the feature list

Firm needEvidence to request in a pilot
Answering client questionsTraceable sources, correct facts and an advisor review step.
Comparing projectionsVisible baseline, editable assumptions and explainable differences.
Presenting recommendationsAccurate report content, clear scope and no unsupported savings promises.
Following throughNamed action owners, deadlines, evidence and a process for revisiting changed facts.
Operating at firm scalePermissions, client separation, training, exception handling and predictable costs.

This is a Genwise evaluation framework, not a ranking or a claim that each product has every capability listed.

    Pricing and implementation questions

Replace headline-price comparisons with the same defined scope: client or return volume, users, AI limits, onboarding, support, renewal and exports. Separate vendor onboarding from the firm's work to design its advisory process.

Before rollout, agree on who collects the inputs, checks calculations, approves the recommendation and follows up with the client. Review vendor data-handling terms before uploading sensitive information. Test incomplete inputs and an incorrect extraction, not only a clean example.

Start with one representative engagement and a documented acceptance check. Compare preparation and review effort against your baseline before expanding the service.

    How Genwise helps

Genwise acts as a blended COO and CTO, connecting people, processes and technology. We help firms scope the operational change, map the workflow, coordinate implementation and support adoption and optimization. Your firm retains responsibility for tax advice and client decisions.
